TO LONG: to have a strong desire for someone. It brings great joy for our heavenly Father, for us to long for Him. We know that the Lord longs for us because He allowed us to crucify His one and only Son as proof of His longing for us…

In a Judean wilderness, David cried out, God, you are my God. I GREATLY LONG FOR YOU. With ALL my heart I thirst for you in this dry desert where there isn’t any water.” (Psa. 63:1) At the time, David was being hunted by Saul, who felt that he was a threat to his kingdom, and at times David became weary in body, wondering if he would ever find peace. I will lie down and SLEEP IN PEACE. LORD, you alone keep me safe. (Psa. 4:8)

“…I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how WIDE and LONG and HIGH and DEEP IS THE LOVE OF CHRIST, and TO KNOW THIS LOVE that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD.” (Eph3:17-19)
